CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 7, 2015) - Two of the fastest-growing forms of racing in the country are set to take over the world's largest automotive extravaganza Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26. Fans can witness stars of the Mystik Lubricants Terracross Championship as well as the turf titans of the STA-BIL 360° Performance USLMRA (U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association) as they fight to the finish over two days of ruthless off-road battles at Charlotte Motor Speedway's Autofair.

Often compared to a combination of X-Games Rallycross and Endurocross, Terracross competitors race in light-weight, production-built, three-quarter-sized off-road UTVs. The premier racing classes feature Pro Polaris RZR 1000 and Pro Women.

Terracross is raced on a short, rugged, purpose-built course made for the toughest off-road enthusiast. Multiple disciplines go head-to-head against the roughest and muddiest terrain with extreme track features, including a challenging over under jump, a Mystik Mangler section, and tight turns, making it a challenge not only against their competitors, but also the track.

"We are so excited to bring Terracross to the hub of motorsports at Charlotte Motor Speedway," said Joe Duncan, sport organizer of the series. "With our high-flying crossover racing action and the top name action sports stars, we are ready to crown the 2015 champion at this amazing facility. Racers and crews have been talking about this one all season and are ready to show the southeast what this new sport of Terracross is all about."

Off-road racing fans can watch the two days of intense Terracross racing on the fifth-mile track located directly behind Turn 3. Opening ceremonies and driver introductions will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, followed by practice seeding and qualifying heats throughout the day. Two final rounds will take place Saturday, with opening ceremonies taking place at 11:30 a.m.

Ready, Set, Mow! U.S. Lawn Mower Racing will be held in the specifically constructed dirt oval inside of the fifth-mile track. The STA-BIL 360° Performance Nationals will consist of 120 champions in 11 classes who race at speeds up to 60 mph with all blades removed.

Like the race title implies, "performance" in the race will be key as racers compete for trophies, glory and bragging rights.

"It will be a family affair as we'll have grandpas, grandsons, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives all racing together," said Bruce Kaufman, "Mr. Mow It All," USLMRA President. "The family that mows together, grows together! Let's plow!"

"Mowtor" sport enthusiasts can enjoy this spectacle of sod-slinging action at the fifth-mile track, which is also located behind Turn 3 of the legendary 1.5-mile super speedway.  The USLMRA heat races will hit the turf at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday to qualify for the final mow off at 4:10 p.m.

In addition to Terracross and U.S Lawn Mower racing, AutoFair features more than 50 car club displays and more than 7,000 vendor spaces offering an array of automotive parts and memorabilia. More than 1,500 collectible vehicles of all makes and models will be available for sale in the car corral that rings the 1.5-mile superspeedway. In addition, kids can enjoy face-painting, bounce houses, and other games and entertainment in the play zone.

Hours for the Sept. 24-27 AutoFair are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday. Ticket prices are $11 per day (including tax) for adults and children 13 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Fans who buy three tickets get the fourth day free.
